What a treat ! I had a lot of fun going through the web site and
remembering those days. Some of this stuff really brought back some good
memories. I had forgotten all about the Bent Hubcap Award and then I saw
the photo. I can't even remember how we awarded it? Highest score? I
don't think that was it. I think it was awarded to someone who had the
worst luck on a rally or something like it.
The badge and patch really have memories for me. I can remember ordering
the badges. We waited an eternity for them to come. Why does a
manufacturer in Spain ring a bell for me? Were they outsourced to Spain?
The Rate Your Driver and Rate Your Navigator quizzes that we ran in the
Bullrake were a huge hit. I think those quizzes were reprinted in every
sports car club's newsletter from Boston to San Diego. Those quizzes were
funny. I can remember working on them with Ken. At the time that was our
'great American novel'.
I also remember that Geri Fisher did a lot of the graphics for the
newsletter. She did the covers for us periodically. Ken was really good
at design also and I remember he did his fair share.
Advice to the Lovelorn by Minnie Cooper. Ken and I would make up the
letters and the responses. What a hoot !
I forgot that you went with Ken on the Canadian Winter Rally. I remember
we drove up to the Press on Regardless Rally in the Michigan upper
peninsula. I can't remember the guy Ken went with on the rally. I can
picture him but I can't remember his name.
How many hours did we labor over the St. Valentine's Day Massacre? What an
aggravating (and fun) thing that was. We would get so far 'off course' and
the frustrating part was that we knew the whole thing was right there in
front of us. AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
I went out on the link to TCNE. I was amazed to see that The Search rally
is still run and that Mark Rerick is still the rallymaster. I thought he
may of 'sold the rights' by now.
Is the Cape Codder still run? Who puts that on?
